I completed my Masters of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I began my therapy career working in an outpatient hospital clinic in the field of child and adolescent mental health. The experience was pivotal in helping me to develop a unique set of therapy skills for working with clients with mental health concerns. After leaving the outpatient clinic in Mississauga, I started working more with young adults by providing counselling support to students in the University of Guelph. I have been in that role for several years and thoroughly enjoy my work.
When I am not working I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible with my trusty golden retriever companion Jazz.
I will spend the first meeting gaining a better understanding of your areas of concern and exploring the goals for the work together. I use a variety of therapy models which includes but is not limited to elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy
I am able to offer support through video, in person or by phone. My office is located in a confidential and safe space in a convenient Guelph location. The office has comfortable and warm décor and a waiting area for you to enter when arriving for your appointment.
During the first meeting we will explore what you hope to work on during therapy sessions and discuss a schedule for the time together. Payment can be made in the form of email transfer
